I am a BAMBA listed mindfulness and compassion teacher and supervisor. My teaching is grounded in my own mindfulness and compassion practices. I came to mindfulness at a difficult time in my life, when I was stressed, anxious and down. I had tried meditation, but it was attending an 8-week structured mindfulness course that brought real benefits. The mindfulness meditation practices and the approaches I learned helped me to calm and steady myself, to be less overwhelmed by difficulties and to open up to and appreciate all the little things in life that bring joy. The course also taught kindness and compassion mediations, it took me a while to engage with these but now I benefit from being less harsh with myself and from being kinder and more compassionate in my life. My practice of mindfulness and compassion supports me to live my life well every day.
I teach mindfulness and compassion courses to the general public and in organisations both online, and in person in the West Midlands. I completed my training to teach mindfulness with Breathworks-mindfulness (www.breathworks.mindfulness.org.uk) in 2012. Then, wanting to deepen my understanding of mindfulness and meditation, I undertook an MSc in Studies in Mindfulness which was co delivered by the University of Aberdeen and the Mindfulness Association (https://www.mindfulnessassociation.net). I am qualified to teach Breathworks Mindfulness Courses and the Mindfulness Association Mindfulness and Compassion courses. I have also trained to deliver courses for teachers and pupils with the Mindfulness in Schools Project and to deliver the Frantic World course for businesses with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.
I love supporting the learning of others and seeing them benefit from cultivating greater mindfulness, kindness and compassion.
